Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026.
This policy explains how RollSorted, the iPhone app and rollsorted.com, handles information. The app is operated by Solstice Labs LLC, a Colorado limited liability company, 215 S Wadsworth Blvd Ste 400, Lakewood, CO 80226.
Your photo library
Photo review, similarity grouping and best-shot suggestions run on your iPhone. RollSorted uses the Photos access you grant through iOS. You can allow selected photos, allow your full library or change access in iPhone Settings. RollSorted does not send your photo or video files to our account service or a cloud AI service.
Apple Photos may fetch previews from your iCloud Photos library. Archiving missing original resources requires your explicit choice to allow original downloads. Those downloads come from your Photos library through Apple, not from a copy held by us.
Archive, then remove
You choose the photos and videos to archive and a drive or Files folder where the copies will live. RollSorted streams the exposed original and current Photos resources, including available edit, alternate and Live Photo companion files. It reads the copied files back to check their lengths and checksums and records dated archive receipts. Edits are saved as files; albums are not reconstructed.
Folder access grants stay on this device and are excluded from optional account backup and portable progress exports. Archive files in a cloud-backed Files folder may be uploaded by the provider you chose. That provider and Apple control their own storage and syncing.
Removing originals is a separate exact-selection review. RollSorted checks the copies and sources again before asking Photos for confirmation. Favorites, Protected and Skipped originals are excluded. Keep is excluded unless you explicitly include it.
The On My iPhone folder is on the same phone. Removing its Photos originals frees no space, and deleting RollSorted deletes that local folder. iCloud Photos removal also affects synced devices. Photos manages Recently Deleted, so a removal does not promise immediate reclaimed storage.
Sorting progress and optional backup
Sorting choices, settings, counts, album references and archive history are stored on your device. If you choose optional account backup, it sends progress and settings, including decisions, protection, copy records, archive jobs and receipts, resource names, file paths, source identifiers, dates, sizes, checksums and destination descriptions. Some of that text can be personal, such as album names or filenames. It is linked to your account so you can restore it.
Backups and progress exports contain no original photo or video files, folder access grants or disk-capacity readings. Restored archive history requires folder reconnection and fresh checks before removal.
Widgets
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read a small snapshot shared locally by RollSorted. It contains sorting counts, your daily goal and, when available, a year and item counts ready to archive or the date of a checked archive. It contains no media files, filenames, album names, folder access grants or account identity. The widget does not request Photos access or upload this snapshot. It changes when accepted progress or archive history changes and updates the daily goal at local midnight. A checked archive date describes an earlier check; it does not promise that removal is currently available.
Optional account and email choices
Every feature works without an account. Accounts are optional and for people 18 or older. If you sign up with email or Sign in with Apple, we receive your email, account or Apple sign-in identifier and the optional name Apple shares. We also store which suite apps you signed in to, your per-app beta and marketing choices and when you made them. These details support sign-in, your choices and optional backup.
If you choose marketing emails or submit a website launch-notification form, we use your email to send the updates you requested. You can turn off those choices or unsubscribe. We do not use your photos or sorting history to target advertising.
One account works across our apps. If you have a supporter purchase, its signed Apple transaction and subscription status can be stored with that account. You can sign out or delete your account in Settings. Account deletion removes the account and its online backups across our apps. See the suite account page for details.
Purchases and service providers
Apple processes optional supporter subscriptions. We receive purchase and subscription status, not your payment card details.
- RevenueCat processes purchases and restores subscription access. Its SDK receives purchase information, an anonymous app user identifier and the device's identifier for vendor. Purchase information and the device identifier support app functionality and subscription analytics. RollSorted does not set a custom RevenueCat account identifier or send it photo or video content. Purchase history is also linked to your optional suite account when you use that account for supporter access.
- Sentry receives crash, performance and filtered diagnostic information to help us fix failures and improve app operation. These diagnostics are not linked to your account. The app removes account identity, request details and private text from diagnostic events and does not attach screenshots or photo and video files.
Permissions and information kept on this phone
- Photos access lets RollSorted show the accessible library, copy selected resources, add photos to albums and remove the exact originals you confirm through Photos.
- Notifications are optional and requested when you turn on a sorting reminder. You can turn them off in iPhone Settings.
- RollSorted checks whether our own suite apps are installed to avoid promoting ones you already have. That result stays on your device.
- An ad-free expiration can be shared locally with our other apps on the same iPhone.
Android app
RollSorted reads your photos and videos on this phone so it can group them by month and show the items you choose to keep, skip or mark. On Android 14 and later you may grant access to selected items only. The app has no internet permission, no account and no analytics; your sorting choices are stored in the app’s private storage. If you ask RollSorted to remove marked items, Android shows its own confirmation and the items go to the system trash for about 30 days. Copies you archive are written only to the folder you choose. Notifications are optional and are used only for the daily reminder you turn on.
Advertising and tracking
Every feature is free. Occasional, dismissible promotions advertise our own apps. An optional supporter subscription removes ads and automatic signup reminders. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-app advertising or use Apple's advertising identifier to track you. The app's privacy declarations mark tracking as off.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Optional accounts require you to confirm that you are 18 or older.
Your choices and rights
You can use RollSorted without an account, change Photos and notification permissions in iPhone Settings, export or import progress in the app and delete local app data by deleting the app. Before deleting the app, move any archive files you want to keep out of its On My iPhone folder.
For access or deletion requests, email privacy@solsticesuiteapps.com. Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK or California, you may have additional rights, and we will honor them.
Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and protect it with reasonable safeguards.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above.
